How to Attach Hookbaits Quickly with a Hook Bead & Screw Kit

Attaching hookbaits securely doesn’t need to be complicated. A Hook Bead & Screw Kit provides a quick and reliable way to mount pop-ups and other hookbaits directly onto your carp rig.

Ideal for Ronnie rigs, spinner rigs and other hookbait presentations, the kit allows you to change hookbaits in seconds without using bait floss or tying additional knots.

What Is a Hook Bead & Screw Kit?

Each kit contains two simple components:

  • Hook beads, designed to grip hook sizes 2 to 8

  • Bait screws, which work with a wide range of carp hook patterns

The hook beads feature Carper Tackle’s signature Cam-Spec camouflage finish, helping the components blend naturally into the lakebed.

Each pack contains:

  • 20 hook beads

  • 10 bait screws

How to Fit a Hook Bead and Bait Screw

Setting up the kit takes only a few seconds:

  1. Slide the bait screw onto the shank of your chosen hook.

  2. Push a hook bead onto the hook to hold the bait screw in position.

  3. Screw your chosen hookbait onto the bait screw in a clockwise direction.

  4. Check that the hookbait is secure before casting.

The bait screw can rotate freely on the hook shank, helping to create an effective and flexible hookbait presentation.

Why Use a Bait Screw?

Bait screws make it easier to attach and replace hookbaits while fishing. Instead of using bait floss, a baiting needle or additional knots, the hookbait simply screws directly onto the metal thread.

This makes them particularly useful when you want to:

  • Change hookbait colour or flavour quickly

  • Replace damaged or softened hookbaits

  • Prepare several rigs efficiently

  • Create clean Ronnie rig and spinner rig presentations

  • Secure pop-ups, wafters and other suitable hookbaits

Suitable Hookbaits

Bait screws can be used with many popular carp fishing hookbaits, including:

  • Pop-ups

  • Wafters

  • Boilies

  • Artificial hookbaits

  • Cork-ball hookbaits

Always check that the bait screw is firmly secured inside the hookbait before casting.

A Simple Addition to Your Carp Rig

The Carper Tackle Hook Bead & Screw Kit offers a fast and straightforward way to attach hookbaits. With Cam-Spec hook beads, versatile bait screws and enough components to prepare multiple rigs, it is a useful addition to any carp angler’s terminal tackle.
